The 9th ILGA Asia Conference is happening on 28 November - 2 December 2022!

We are excited to announce that the 9th ILGA Asia Conference is happening!

Date: 28 November - 2 December 2022

Venue: New World Saigon Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Conference website: ilgaasia2022.org

This year, we will center Our Trials, Our Triumphs, and the Future We Demand. Since our last conference in Seoul in 2019, our world has been changing drastically, with a raging global pandemic, the rise of religious fundamentalisms and anti-gender movements, and growing inequalities within and across national boundaries. Against all odds, however, LGBTIQ movements in Asia just keep growing stronger.

Let us gather to celebrate our victories and chart our trajectory towards the future we demand, a future in which LGBTIQ and all marginalised groups across Asia live and love freely and equally.

This conference will convene hundreds of Asian LGBTIQ human rights defenders, civil society and community based organisations, donor organisations, and government representatives to raise awareness on LGBTIQ issues in the continent, strengthen regional solidarity, and strategise collective action against attacks on LGBTIQ human rights.

Scholarship applications and session proposals are now open! Visit our conference website to check out our five conference themes and submit your applications. Regular registration for paid participants will open on 27 June 2022.

The 9th ILGA Asia Conference is co-organised with ICS Centre.
