World Mental Health Day - Dr. Mehrub Moiz Awan

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, we share the story of Dr. Mehrub Moiz Awan from Pakistan — a medical professional who was subjected to conversion therapy under the guise of care. What was presented as treatment became a source of deep harm and discrimination.

Her experience reminds us that conversion therapy is not care — it is abuse. As we reflect on mental health today, we stand with all LGBTIQ+ people who have endured such practices and affirm the urgent need to end them once and for all.
