Call for Applications: ILGA Asia and Carr-Ryan Center Global LGBTIQ+ Program Training
ILGA Asia and the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program at Harvard’s Carr-Ryan Center are excited to launch the application for The Fundamentals of LGBTQI+ Movement Building In-Person Training in Asia, taking place from 6 - 8 November 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand!
About the Fundamentals of LGBTQI+ Movement Building In-Person Training Program:
The Fundamentals of LGBTQI+ Movement Building In-Person Training Program is a 3-day training, led by global experts and Harvard instructors. It is developed based on the robust Fundamentals of LGBTQI+ Movement Building Online Training Program. These sessions are carefully designed, and have been refined with feedback from previous participants to equip activists with frameworks, strategies, and tools for driving change in their own organizations, countries and contexts. Goal:
The goal of the workshop is to strengthen the strategic leadership capacity of LGBTQI+ movement leaders in Asia to develop context-responsive strategies, resilient coalitions, and actionable models of change that advance equality and safety for LGBTQI+ community in Asia.
Target Groups:
A cohort of experienced LGBTQI+ leaders from across Asia representing diverse identities and sectors will be convened. Selection will prioritize the candidates’ influence and commitments to LGBTQI+ activism; not job title alone. LGBTIQ+ advocates, activists, civil society representatives, community leaders, academics and researchers, creatives, LGBTIQ+ DEI specialists and private sector representatives, and public officials and policy makers are all welcome to apply.
How to apply:
Before applying, please review the training concept note. You can apply for the training by completing this application formby 23:59 ICT on Friday, 29 May 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by Monday 29, June 2026 to confirm participation in the training.
ILGA Asia will cover flights, accommodations for 4 nights, breakfast and lunch at the venue for 3 days, ground transportation, travel insurance, and any visa costs. The training will be conducted in English.
