Title: Fundraising Specialist (Full time)

Duty station: Home-based (remote working). The candidate must have a reliable internet connection and be willing to work across flexible time zones.

ILGA Asia is the Asian Region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex Association, representing over 200 LGBTIQ-led member organisations across 41 East, South, Southeast, and West Asia countries.

The Role:
As the Fundraising Specialist at ILGA Asia, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing innovative fundraising strategies and grants/proposal writing, specifically focusing on developing long-term and sustainable revenue generation and managing sophisticated donor relationships. Your expertise will directly contribute to the advancement of ILGA Asia’s strategic objectives and mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Fundraising Leadership and Grant Writing:

  • Assist the Executive Director in devising and implementing advanced fundraising strategies aligned with ILGA Asia’s strategic plan, mission, and growth — aimed at long-term and sustainable revenue generation.

  • Work together with the ILGA Asia executive leadership team to develop an annual fundraising plan with clear objectives, targets and donor outreach activities.

  • Excel in crafting compelling, high-stakes grant proposals that attract significant funding.

  • Identify and capitalize on new fundraising opportunities and channels, including digital and non-traditional sources.

  • Maintain ILGA Asia’s database of income generation by updating potential sources of income, existing and potential donors’ information, key contacts, and proposal/application status.

    High-Value Donor Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key donors of ILGA Asia, including major international foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate sponsors.

  • Develop personalised engagement strategies to strengthen long-term donor relationships and ensure sustained support.

    Fundraising Campaigns and Events:

  • Lead the development and execution of impactful fundraising campaigns and events, employing innovative methods for maximum effectiveness and reach.

  • Analyse fundraising campaign performance and adapt strategies for continuous improvement.

    Funding Context Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough mapping of donor landscape for LGBTIQ movement in Asia and analysis on fundraising trends, adapting strategies to stay ahead in a competitive funding environment.

  • Stay informed the ILGA Asia executive leadership team about geopolitical developments and their potential impact on funding opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Proven experience with at least 5 years in fundraising, with a track record of securing up long-term and sustainable funding, preferably in the human rights or LGBTIQ sector in the Asia region.

  2. Exceptional relationship-building skills, with experience managing high-level donor relationships.

  3. Expertise in grant writing and fundraising campaign management.

  4. Strong analytical skills for donor landscape assessment and trend analysis.

  5. Advanced communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.

  6. Deep commitment to the values and mission of ILGA Asia.
