The military in Myanmar must immediately restore civilian rule, safely and unconditionally release all political detainees and human rights defenders complying with international human rights laws. Ultimately the military should respect the wills of the people of Myanmar, and that any allegations of electoral irregularity be addressed lawfully through mechanisms set up through its Constitution.

We would like to congratulate our LGBT friends and allies in Bhutan for your tireless efforts and commitment to achieve this milestone. We wish you all the best in the next steps to protect and promote human rights for LGBT Bhutanese. This victory belongs to you and the whole Kingdom of Bhutan.
