#HRC61: Submission to the report on the right to health for women and girls in Afghanistan

During the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, our Afghanistan Programme Lead, Zohra Mousavi, delivered a statement highlighting the alarming situation of lesbian, bisexual, and trans women under Taliban rule.

Criminalised, erased from public life, and excluded from life-saving support systems, LBT women are persecuted due to their gender identity and sexual orientation in Afghanistan. At the same time, funding cuts to organisations providing protection to LBT women are removing the already minimised but critical lifelines.
